Second Day - The Day Of Reception - Morning

Nalungu - 2

Another Nalungu. This Nalungu is the repetition of yesterday's ceremony. This one is conducted just before the bride groom leaves for the marriage hall.

It would not be an exagerration to say that the bride and the groom would have to undergo close to 5 nalungus during the entire wedding ceremony. I must appreciate Anna's patience during all of these.

Here it begins with Gaja atha

Bharathy Mom next

Shantha pedhamma "Get ready for another round of sandal paste creaming :)"

Shabi Atha

Rani Atha ends it .. "Don't worry, I will not bother you long this time"

Akkas march him out to the car

First Day - After Nalungu in the noon "Mehendi Time"

Vanitha Akka's Mehendi

I was amazed at the ease with which Rama Akka (Baskar mama's daughter) laid
mehendi in vanitha akka's hand.

She then laid mehendi over to charlotte and sherline's hands.

Good job Rama akka.

First Day - Nalungu in Komakkambedu

Pelli koduku nalungu (bride groom shower) of Anna took place in our village Komakkambedu. The morning was memorable as I saw my sister Anitha, niece Harshu, my mom, Dad and others after a long gap of three years. I also saw children of Lakshmi for the first time. However, I could not speak to them for more than a minute as every one of them was busy getting ready for the great event of our family - Anna's wedding.

Coming back to the function..
We (myself, akkas, bthy mom and dad, bava , kids) arrived in Kmbedu around 8 in the morning. Our house looked great with the chamiyana, huge rangolis and thoranams knitted out of mango leaves and tender coconut leaves.

Getting Ready for Nalungu
Akkas, Myself, Anna , Bthy mom and Rani Atha were packing the gifts to be distributed for those who attend the ceremony as a token of thanks.

Meanwhile Shantha Pedhamma and Ravana atha were busy cooking pongal outside
(This snap was taken after they were done)

My pedhammas also got the puja lamps ready for nalungu

Well, Our dog Naani did a good job of entertaining my little nephews and nieces.

Thus, the ceremony comes to an end. I really enjoyed the event and we all had lots of fun and laughter. The kids and my akkas made this event more adorable. It is indeed a very memorable one.
